Kolkata: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) came down heavily on Mamata Banerjee-led West Bengal government following anor alleged flogging incident in state. An old video clip showing a girl being assaulted by a group of people inside a club in North 24 Parganas district has gone viral on social media. motive behind girl's assault remains unknown.

While BJP alleged that a person close to local TMC MLA was behind torturing girl, state's ruling party demanded that video be examined to find out its aunticity.

BJP National Spokesperson Shehz Poonawalla took to X and asked wher Rahul Gandhi and or INDI bloc leers will visit victim. "One more Bengal Talibani video has surfaced, which shows that a woman is being brutally beaten by a person who is close to Trinamool Congress leers", he said on X.

Barrackpore Police have stated that after identifying individuals shown in approximately two-year-old video, y have arrested two accused.

"Police have taken note of an old video now in circulation on social media involving assault on a girl. A suo motu criminal case has been started. All legal actions against persons seen in () video are being taken. 2 among m are alrey in custody," Barrackpore Police said in a post on X.

video clip shows several individuals holding a person's legs and hands, suspending her in air while two ors beat her with sticks. incident allegedly took place in a club in Ariaha, located in North 24 Parganas district.

clip was shared by BJP's West Bengal president, Sukanta Majumdar, who attributed responsibility to Jayant Singh, who has been arrested.

"Absolutely appalled by emerging video from Taltala Club, Kamarhati, showing Jayant Singh, a close associate of TMC MLA Man Mitra, brutally attacking a girl. This heinous act under a government that claims to champion women's rights is a disgrace to humanity," Majumdar posted on X.

In response, senior TMC leer Santanu Sen demanded a forensic test of video, claiming it was a BJP ploy to tarnish image of West Bengal.
