Anupam Kher is ecstatic after Masood Azhar is designated as a global terrorist in United Nations Sanctions List; here’s what he tweeted

India achieved a massive diplomatic victory on Wednesday as Pakistan’s Masood Azhar, chief of the terrorist outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed, got designated as a global terrorist in United Nations Sanctions List. Anupam Kher was among the first actors to react over the news and called it a ‘huge.’

Moments after the development, Kher took to Twitter and wrote, “  This is HUGE. Jai Ho and Jai Hind.” 

The veteran actor’s tweet was in response to India’s Ambassador & Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Syed Akbaruddin's announcement on the microblogging platform. Akbaruddin had tweeted, “Big,small, all join together. Masood Azhar designated as a terrorist in @UN Sanctions list Grateful to all for their support. #Zerotolerance4Terrorism.” 

China has lifted its hold and Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar is designated as a global terrorist under the United Nations sanctions list.  

After China's withdrawal, Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar is now blacklisted as a global terrorist. 

The founder of the terror outfit perpetrated the Pulwama terror attack that martyred 40 CRPF Jawans, following which India received massive global support, of countries like Russia, United States, United Kingdom, Israel, France and more.

China said on Tuesday that the vexed issue of designating Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar as a global terrorist by the UN will be "properly resolved", but it did not give any timeline, days after Chinese President Xi Jinping met Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan. 

China put a technical hold in March on a fresh proposal to impose a ban on the head of Pakistan-based JeM which claimed responsibility for the deadly Pulwama terror attack. It was for the fourth time, China blocked Azhar's listing as a global terrorist by the UN. 

"I can only say that I believe that this will be properly resolved," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang told a media briefing here.
