Anupam Kher on 'Hotel Mumbai'
Anupam Kher's latest film, Hotel Mumbai, which also marks the directorial debut of Antony Maras is all set to release in Indian theatres on November 29. The movie released in the UK last month and has garnered praises for its narrative style. The Anupam Kher and Dev Patel starrer is based on the November 2008 terrorist attack on Mumbai's Taj Mahal hotel. The story is a retelling of the horrors and atrocities faced by the hostages at the Taj hotel during the terrorist siege on November 26, 2008.
While talking about the movie to a news agency, Anupam Kher shared that the movie has taught him to value humanity above anything else. He said, "The film celebrates the real-life heroes and how they were able to discover their courage. Sometimes you discover your courage in a situation like this. As actors, we are widely celebrated but these are the heroes who need to be in the spotlight. This film made me learn the biggest lesson of my life - to value humanity above all."
He also shared about his journey in the film industry and how 'Hotel Mumbai' holds a special place for the actor as it is his 501st film. Describing his experience he said, "It's been 35 amazing years for me in this great industry I work in. I have had the fortune to work on such impeccable films and with equally impeccable talent. I think any actor would agree that one doesn't count the number of movies they do, an actor is greedy for more parts, for better parts and that's what my journey has been defined by. I'm happy this film, "Hotel Mumbai" is my 501st film, it's a landmark project for me and for all those brave souls who help continue the spirit of humanity in dire times of need."
