Army Chief General Bipin Rawat, with his wife Madhulika Rawat, on Wednesday, visited the Kedarnath Temple. Army Chief Rawat is also going to visit Badrinath

Army Chief General Bipin Rawat, along with his wife Mhulika Rawat, on Wednesday, have visited Kedarnath Temple. Army Chief Rawat is also scheduled to visit Brinath soon. Necessary preparations h been me by temple ministration, temple committee, pilgrim priests and authorities, in view of his visit to shrine.
Army Chief interacted with temple officials
According to sources, General Bipin Rawat left for Kedarnath Dham on Wednesday morning in an army helicopter from Dehrun Army Cantt Helip and reached VIP helip at 9.20 am, after which he and his wife offered ir prayers at temple. ditionally, he also h an interaction with officials of ministration and temple committee.

He is expected to leave for Joshimath, shortly. Sources suggest that at Joshimath, district ministration has alrey given necessary instructions to Superintendent of Police, SDM Ukhimath, Sector Officer Kedarnath and Executive Officer Temple Committee regarding General Rawat's visit to Kedarnath. A police force has been deployed in view of security arrangements.
His visit to holy shrine comes just a day after Army Chief General visited Leh which is main town of strategic Lakh. He was in area to review security situation along borders with China and Pakistan.

He also interacted with soldiers
According to army sources, he, during his visit, also interacted with officers and soldiers during his visit to Army formations to obtain first-hand information on ground situation in frontier region. However, main purpose of his visit to Leh was to inform 15th Finance Commission (FC) team, led by its chairman N. K. Singh, which is in frontier region to obtain first-hand kwledge about challenges faced by Army in discharging ir duties under extreme terrain and altitude conditions, of conditions in which Army troops are operating in landlocked region and defending borders.

According to a statement issued by Army, Gen. Rawat, during his visit to hequarters of Leh-based Fire & Fury Corps, interacted with Mr Singh and or members of 15th Finance Commission.
