Army rescues nine people stranded in snow in J-K's Rajouri

Jammu, Mar 8 (PTI) army on Sunday rescued nine people, including five women, who were stranded in sw in higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district, a defence spokesperson said.
"Army troops of Romeo Force braved harsh wear and incessant sw and rain near Dera Ki Gali to rescue passengers travelling between Thanamandi and Bafliaz," he said.

spokesperson said ir SUV got stuck on ro due to heavy swfall, which kept increasing.
On information about same, he said troops and local police stationed at Dera Ki Gali swung into action and reached site immediately and rescued people.

Meanwhile, wearman has forecast ar spell of light to moderate rains and swfall on higher reaches during March 12 and 13.
"Light to moderate rains with thunderstorms (hails at isolated places) and swfall occurred at widespre places of Jammu and Kashmir during last two days...significant improvement is likely from today (Sunday) and wear is likely to remain mainly dry till March 11," a spokesperson of Meteorological (MeT) Department said.

He said while ar spell of wet wear is likely to hit Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday and Friday, major wear activity is expected for Lakh for next week.
