Army steps up precautionary measures to ensure COVID-19 does not spread among soldiers
After a 34-year-old soldier was tested positive with the Coronavirus, the Army has taken various measures to ensure that it does not affect the other soldiers

After a 34-year-old soldier was tested positive for Coronavirus, Army has taken various measures to ensure that COVID-19 outbreak does t affect soldiers who are deployed to safeguard frontiers of country. Army on Wednesday said that a 34-year-old soldier deployed in Leh who has been tested positive with Coronavirus has been placed in quarantine at a government hospital in Lakh.

Army said that solider whose identity has t been revealed said that he was on casual leave from February 25 to March 1 and his far who h gone on a pilgrim to Iran h returned on an Air India flight on February 27. His far on his return to Lakh was placed under quarantine at Lakh heart foundation. However, soldier who h re-joined his duties post his leaver was helping his family and was also staying at his vill Chuchot for some time.

Army said that far of soldier was later tested positive with COVID-19 and was placed in isolation at SNM hospital in Leh. Army said that soldier's report was also placed under quarantine on March 7 and on March 16 came as positive and n was placed in an isolation ward in SNM hospital in Leh.

“His wife, along with two children and his sister have also been quarantined at SNM Heart Foundation in Leh,” Army said.
Army also said that soldiers and colleagues of soldier who has been tested positive have also been tested for COVID-19 in Lakh and y have also been placed under quarantine, ir test reports are yet to come. Meanwhile, Union Health Ministry in its morning bulletin on situation across country arising due to Coronavirus has said that number of positive cases in Union territory of Lakh has risen to eight.
