Army vice chief says 'Pakistan is using heavier artillery for LoC violations'

Vice Chief of Army Staff Lt General Satinder Kumar Saini said that the Indian side is in touch with the Chinese counterparts at both diplomatic & military level

Vice Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) Lt Gen Satinder Kumar Saini while dressing media at Indian Military Passing Out Pare in Dehrun on Saturday said that number of ceasefire violations at Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir has increased with an escalation in calibre of artillery used by or side to target incent civilians. Speaking furr, Vice Chief of Army Staff said that ceasefires along LoC are abhorrent. Stating that although casualties have taken place on our side, Lt Gen Satinder Kumar Saini said that Indian Army is retaliating in a calibrated manner.

Lt Gen Satinder Kumar Saini: 'Pakistan is using heavier artillery'

While speaking about ongoing dialogues between India and Chinese sides to solve border dispute, Saini informed that Indian side is in touch with Chinese counterparts at both diplomatic and military levels. "We are prepared for all contingencies which arise on LoC," he ded. Lt Gen Saini also informed that Indian Army is in constant touch with its Chinese counterparts both at diplomatic as well as military level.

Hoping to find a solution and to restore status quo by April this year through ongoing dialogue, Vice Chief of Army Staff said, "We seek a resolution through dialogue. We are also committed to ensuring territorial integrity and sovereignty of country irrespective of cause involved."

Asserting that Indian Army has to keep engment on with China, Saini said that se are complex talks and refore it's likely to take time. He furr ded that y are maintaining ir commitment in this dialogue and hopes that an early resolution is achieved. Speaking about reports of China setting up vills near Line of Actual Control (LAC), Lt General said that new vills or structures have been created inside Indian territory. 

Highlighting that re are new vill or structures which have been created inside our territory, Vice Chief of Army Staff said that vills or structures are on or side of border. He said, "As you are aware that continued development of infrastructure on or side of Line of Actual Control (LAC) has been ongoing for last many deces. refore, it is t a matter of concern for us."
