Supreme Court on Wednesday heard a batch of petitions challenging Centre's decision to abrogate Article 370, revoking special status of Jammu and Kashmir. Hearing petitions, top court said that petition will be heard by a Constitutional bench in first week of October. hearing of case on Wednesday was done by a bench heed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi.
While petition against scrapping of Article 370 has been filed by CPI(M) leer Sitaram Yechury, vocate M L Sharma, National Conference MPs Mohd Akbar Lone and Justice (rtd) Hasnain Masoodi have challenged changes me in constitutional status of Jammu and Kashmir by Centre. y have also been joined by former IAS officer Shah Faesal and former JNU student leer Shehla Rashid and several ors including Rha Kumar. Yechury has also petitioned court for production of party leer Mohammed Yousuf Tarigami, who has been under detention.

Congress against abrogation of Article 370
Congress opposed move to abrogate Article 370 even after move was quoted by government as a step to improve life of Kashmiris and integrate state of Jammu and Kashmir with India. Even as Centre and security forces are trying ir level best to restore rmalcy in Jammu and Kashmir after abrogation of Article 370, Opposition delegation led by Congress travelled to Srinagar on August 24. delegation led by Congress comprisesd of Rahul Gandhi, Ghulam Nabi Az, Anand Sharma, as well as or leers of Opposition - CPI's D Raja, CPI(M)'s Sitaram Yechury, RJD's Maj Jha and ors. As leers boarded flight to Srinagar, y claimed that y are going to talk to common Kashmiri people. y also said that y want to help restore rmalcy in valley. Questioning government, y said that if everything is rmal in Kashmir why are Opposition leers t allowed to visit valley.

Earlier taking to Twitter, Rahul Gandhi h demanded to visit Valley after abrogation of Article 370. Responding to him, Jammu and Kashmir Goverr Satya Pal Malik h offered to send him a 'plane' to visit state so that he would stop fear mongering over it. In response, Rahul Gandhi explicitly stated that while he won't 'need an aircraft' but 'freedom' should be assured for him to travel and meet mainstream leers and soldiers deployed in valley. However, delegation was sent back from Srinagar even after Rahul Gandhi insisted that he is visiting after J&K goverr agreed him visiting valley. security forces said that to maintain peace it is necessary that situation is t hindered.

Abrogation of Article 370 by India
On August 5, India revoked Article 370 of Constitution removing special status to Jammu and Kashmir. ditionally it has also bifurcated state into two Union Territories -- Jammu and Kashmir, and Lakh. Reacting to India's decision, Pakistan took a number of steps including expulsion of Indian High Commissioner soon after deciding to downgre diplomatic ties with New Delhi. India has categorically told international community that its move to scrap Article 370 of Constitution is India's internal matter. Despite Pakistan's repeated attempt to internationalise issue, international community including UN has categorically said that it is a bilateral matter and re is scope for 'third party mediation'. Moreover, to Pakistan's embarrassment, Imran Khan's minister have been peddling fake news to attract international forum towards Kashmir issue, but Indian army has busted ir attempts each time.
