Haryana : An ‘artificial rain’ conducted using sprinklers from high rise building in DLF Primus Society in sector 82 Gurugram to control air pollution. air quality in Delhi-NCR region continues to deteriorate as it happens every year when winters are about to set in rrn states.
President, RWA, DLF Primus Sector-82, Achal Yav said, “We are conducting artificial rain from fire lines of 32-storeyed high-rise towers to control air pollution in area. If AQI increases in Gurugram, we are rey to conduct this every day. We have also taken or steps including car-pool to control pollution...”

In Delhi, air quality remained 'very poor' with a thin layer of smog covering several parts of national capital for sixth consecutive day post- Diwali .
According to Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data, Air Quality Index (AQI) in Delhi was recorded at 358 as of 8 am today.

Alipur recorded an AQI of 372, Bawana at 412, Dwarka Sector 8 at 355, Mundka at 419, Najafgarh at 354, New Moti Bagh at 381, Rohini at 401, Punjabi Bagh at 388 and RK Puram at 373, as per CPCB.
All se areas reported very poor air quality levels, posing significant health risks. Thick toxic foam was seen floating on Yamuna River in Kalindi Kunj, as pollution level in river remains high.

An AQI is considered "poor" between '200 and 300', "very poor" at '301 and 400', "severe" at '401-450," and 450 and above is "severe plus."
Supreme Court on Monday asked Delhi government as to how ban on bursting firecrackers in national capital to curb air pollution was flouted during Diwali celebrations.
A bench of Justices Abhay S Oka and Augustine George Masih asked Delhi government to file an affidavit on steps taken to ensure that pollution is tackled and to enforce firecracker ban in city.

bench observed that re are widespre reports in newspapers that ban on firecrackers was t implemented and said it wanted Delhi government to immediately respond why firecracker ban was hardly implemented.
It furr directed Delhi government and Police Commissioner of Delhi to file affidavits highlighting what steps y propose to take so that this thing does t happen next year.

During hearing, ditional Solicitor General (ASG) Archana Pathak Dave also told bench that re was absolute n-compliance with firecracker restrictions during Diwali this year and ded that re is a report suggesting a huge increase in air pollution on day of Diwali, with pollution percent rising from 10 per cent to 27 per cent.
