Kejriwal's twist: 'Can convert stubble to CNG, will also create jobs'

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal took to Twitter and spoke about the idea of converting the farmer's stubble into CNG. He also asked other states to come together

As the pollution crisis continues to remain a cause of worry in New Delhi, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday stated that it is possible to convert stubble into CNG.

The Delhi Chief Minister took to Twitter and informed about his multiple meetings with experts where he discussed about technological and commercial possibilities of converting the stubble into Compressed Natural Gas. He also informed about how the move will open up doors for more job opportunities for the youth and will also lead to an increase in the income of farmers.

The Aam Aadmi Party chief also asked for other governments to come together for this.

Air Quality Index improves in New Delhi

The Air Quality Index (AQI) of Delhi at 8:30 am on Wednesday was recorded at 276; it was 381 (very poor) on Tuesday and 494 on Wednesday, according to System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR).

Even though pollution levels in Delhi have gone down, The citizens of Delhi woke up to hazy skies owing to a layer of thick smog. The fog, however, seemed to have cleared on Tuesday. At the India Gate, where the air quality remained in the 'unhealthy' category on Wednesday morning, the visibility was poor creating problems for the joggers and the commuters.

The schools in Delhi reopened on Wednesday post the Diwali break. The school going students were seen wearing anti-pollution masks to prevent health hazards. Taking the deteriorating air conditions into consideration, Delhi had decided to shut all schools till November 5.
