Sanjay Mishra shared an interesting story on significance of Kosi Bridge, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated 12 rail projects in Bihar on Friday.  veteran actor recalled how his grandfar h shared story of bridge, built by Britishers in 1887, getting destroyed in 1934 floods-earthquake.

Calling it a ’big achievement’ after heway on construction for deces, he me a promise to government that people of Mithila will take care of bridge.

In a video mess, Sanjay Mishra said, “I am from Mithila, which is kwn for its kwledge, mhubani and for its culture and music. My grandfar used to share that in 1887, Britishers h built a metre gauge bridge of 250 feet long. n in 1934, during floods and earthquakes in Koshi River, bridge got destroyed. one tried to build bridge again.

"Though my grandfar is more re with us, his dream has been fulfilled. Indian government has given country and Bihar a gift. Kosi Rail Mahasetu, which is 2 kilometre long, and compare it to 250 feet long n, that was also a big thing, but this is a grand success. We make a promise to Indian government that we will consider this our own and take care of it” All Best actor said.

During Prime Minister’s dress to nation about inauguration of 12 rail line and electrification projects, leer h a specific mention about Kosi Bridge, as he dedicated it to nation. 

construction of historic Kosi bridge of 1.9 kilometre was completed at cost of Rs 516 crore. bridge brings down distance between Nirmali and Saraigarh regions from 298 kilometres to 22 kilometres and links Kosi and Mithila regions. bridge also brings down its distance to cities like Kolkata, Delhi, and Mumbai, apart from playing a strategic role on Indo-Nepal border.

Some of or highlights of PM’s anuncement included two new rail lines, five electrification projects, one electric locomotive shed as well as a third line project between Barh and Bakhatiarpur. 

Projects of railway electrification of Muzaffarpur- Sitamarhi, Katihar-New Jalpaiguri, Samastipur-Khagaria, Bhagalpur- Shivnarayanpur and Samastipur-Jaynagar rail lines were also anunced on Sunday.
