Ashok Gehlot: BJP & RSS taking name of Mahatma Gandhi is our victory

Ashok Gehlot said it was a victory for the Congress Party that the BJP and the RSS had to take the name of Mahatma Gandhi years after failing to recognise him.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Tuesday took a jibe at BJPd RSS, and said it was a victory for Congress party that BJP and RSS had to take name of Mahatma Gandhi years after failing to recognise him.

Gehlot attended a special convention of state Congress committee on eve of 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and said country and world could t sustain without his principles and BJP and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh should 'apologise for ir mistake'.

Gehlot slams BJP and RSS

Ashok Gehlot slammed BJP and RSS for taking name of Gandhi and stated it to be ir victory.

" RSS, BJP and ir leaders had to take name of Gandhi. This is a victory of our policies, programs and beliefs," he said, adding that outfits should clear ir stance on issue.

"I would like to tell those people that mere speaking about him will t work. You should clarify what you have in your heart and mind." Gehlot said.

He also asserted that if BJP and RSS had realised ir mistake, n y should tell that y could t recognise Gandhi as y worked as 'informers for British'. He furr extolled  Congress and said that it maintained democracy in country for 70 years and said that violence had been created in country since 2014.

PM Modi on Mahatma Gandhi at UNGA 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing 74th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) stated that this year's Assembly is special because entire world is commemorating Mahatma Gandhi's 150th birth anniversary. "Mahatma Gandhi's mess of truth and n-violence is still relevant for peace, progress, and development of world," he said. Mahatma Gandhi's 150th birth anniversary commemoration event was held in New York at United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on Wednesday, ahead of Gandhi Jayanti on October 2.  event was titled 'Leadership Matters - Relevance of Mahatma Gandhi in Contemporary World'.
