Assam: 'Disneyland' themed Kali Puja pandal designed to attract crowd

While Durga Puja this year witnessed theme-based pandals across various states, a Kali Puja pandal in Guwahati has been designed based on a 'Disneyland' theme

While Durga Puja this year witnessed me-based pandals across various states of country, a Kali Puja pandal in Kahilipara Colony Bazar in Guwahati, Assam has been designed based on me of 'Disneyland in Paris'.  pandal was prepared by Vivekananda Sporting Club of Guwahati with a project budget cost of around Rs 22 lakhs. Every year, club organises Kali Puja along with a social awareness campaign and this year, in order to save environment, y have fixed a target to plant around 500 plants.

' me will attract and entertain children'

"We are doing this puja from last 55 years and this year we have designed this pandal with a me of Disneyland. This project costs us Rs 22 lakh. It will attract children and also revive childhood memories of ults. pandal's cost is around Rs 10 lakh," Nirupam Kumar Ghosh, a member said. "This me will attract and entertain children. I have also put up cut-outs of famous cartoon characters like Mickey Mouse and ors. Around 35 workers were employed in making and from last one and a half months we were preparing this pandal," ar member Bal Palit said.

Kali Puja is a major festival celebrated in Tripura and West Bengal. In remaining parts of country, people worship Goddess Lakshmi on occasion of Diwali. This year, Kali Puja falls on October 27, same day when Diwali will be celebrated across country.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his Diwali greetings for country on Sunday. Prime Minister in his tweet wished for a 'prosperous' and a 'happy' nation.

According to sources, Prime Minister is likely to spend Diwali with soldiers. Like every year, this year too, Prime Minister is expected to visit ar forward area on Sunday. In 2018, PM Modi spent Diwali with soldiers at  Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) at Harsil vill near India-China border.
