Assam: Braving angry mother elephant, locals rescue calf stuck between rocks

Locals of the Morigaon district in Assam worked with forest department officials to rescue a baby elephant who got stuck between two huge rock boulders.

Locals of Morigaon district in Assam worked with forest department officials to rescue a baby elephant who got stuck between two huge rock boulders. rescue operation was quite difficult due to presence of mor elephant at spot who chased away people trying to approach calf. incident happened on February 1 at Sonakuchi hills area near Jagiro area. 
According to forest department officials, villrs came across elephant calf that was trapped between huge rocks while its mor was keeping a vigil and roaming in area.

Locals and forest officials rescued calf

 heartwarming video shows forest officials and locals working toger to pull out calf with help of ropes. While rescue operation was being conducted, mor of elephant calf chased locals and forest department personnel when y were trying to rescue calf. But finally y mand to rescue elephant stuck between stuck in between rock boulders while a local suffered mir injuries during rescue operation.

Forest officials rescued elephant from well

Meanwhile, in a heartwarming incident, forest officials in Jharkhand are being lauded for applying a scientific principle in real life to rescue a stranded elephant. incident took place in early hours of January 28 when elephant accidentally fell into a well in Jharkhand's Gumla district. incident occurred in Amliya toli vill where local villrs came across distressed elephant and informed forest department for help.

According to reports, forest officials immediately rushed to spot to rescue distressed elephant at around 7 am on Tuesday. rescue operation lasted for three hours during which time officials pumped water into well so mammal could float up. well was filled with water using three motorised pumps and a ramp dug out for elephant to climb out.
