Ayodhya: Muslim Board rejects AMU VC's offer to give land to Hindus
All India Muslim Personal Law Board rejected the statement by former AMU VC about 'goodwill gift' to Hindus, & that building of mosque in Ayodhya is impossible

A day after former AMU VC said that building of mosque in disputed land of Ayodhya is impossible, All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) has rejected statement on Saturday. Speaking to a news ncy about Ram Janmbhoomi- Babri Masjid case, AIPLM's spokesperson Zafaryab Jilani has said that those giving such suggestions have locus-standi in case. He said that board does t support demands of group. He expressed his confidence in arguments put in front of Supreme Court. apex court has asked both groups to conclude arguments within October 17.

AMU Vice-Chancellor's remark
Former Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Vice-Chancellor Lt General (retired) Zameer Uddin Shah on Friday said that Muslims should hand over disputed land at Ayodhya to Hindus if SC decides so. He has said that it should be done for sake of lasting peace in country. "In case Supreme Court passes judgement in favour of Muslims. y should hand over land to ir Hindu brors for sake of lasting peace in country. re has to be a solution orwise we'll go on fighting," Shah said in an interactive session organised by Indian Muslims for Peace on Thursday. He said that he strongly supported an out-of-court settlement. " Supreme Court should give a clear verdict and it should t be 'Panchayati' at all. Even if court gives judgement in favour of Muslims, will it be possible to build a mosque re? It is impossible," he said.

Ayodhya hearing in SC
Meanwhile, CJI Ranjan Gogoi h anunced that daily hearings on Ayodhya dispute will continue as per schedule. He h furr stated that terms of settlement and process of meditation would be confidential. While SC has allowed mediation to proceed parallelly, CJI h stated that if mediation process reaches a settlement, n settlement is to be placed before apex Court. In a massive setback to Ayodhya land dispute, CJI Gogoi on August 2, declared that Ayodhya mediation panel heed by Justice FM Kalifulla has failed. court n began day-to-day hearings from August 6. Earlier, three-member Ayodhya mediation panel submitted its status report to Supreme Court in a sealed cover, complying with orders of apex court earlier on July 11. apex court n declared that mediation has failed.
