Ayodhya verdict: Delhi police warns of action against mischief-mongers

The Delhi police on Saturday has tightened security in the national capital stated that they "will initiate strict legal action against the mischief-mongers or anyone who is found indulging in any activity that would disrupt peace and public order," in light of the Ayodhya verdict. Furthermore, the police have stated that they are also monitoring all the activities on social media platforms.

Delhi police strengthens security

According to reports, the Delhi police has tightened the security in the national capital before the Supreme Court gave out its final verdict on the Ayodhya Land title dispute. The police have stated that they have taken the help of the parliamentary forces. According to them, the Delhi police's personnel are deployed in plain clothes. Along with it, they are also getting support from the intelligence team.

Educational institutes remain shut

According to reports, before the Supreme Court delivered its final verdict in the decades-old Ayodhya land dispute case, all the schools, colleges, and other educational institutes in Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Karnataka and Delhi were declared shut on Saturday as a precautionary measure. Along with it, the government in Uttar Pradesh has declared that all educational institutes would remain shut from Saturday to Monday.

Ayodhya verdict

Delivering the landmark judgment in the Ayodhya dispute case, the Supreme Court on Saturday, delivered a unanimous judgment in the title suit of the disputed area awarding it to the Hindu parties for the construction of a temple. It also directed the Centre to come up with a scheme within three months to set up a trust which will hand over the outer courtyard and inner courtyard of the site for construction of a temple. Apart from this, the SC stated that an alternate land of 5 acres is to be allotted to Muslims for the liberty of constructing a mosque, either by the central govt or the State govt, in a suitable and prominent place in Ayodhya. CJI Ranjan Gogoi, while delivering the unanimous judgment, dismissed the claims of the Sunni Central Waqf Board and the Nirmohi Akhara. He also termed that the three-way division of the disputed land by the Allahabad HC in its 2010 verdict is wrong.
