Legal troubles for Samajwi Party Lok Sabha MP Azam Khan and his family compounded on Wednesday. A n-bailable warrant has been issued against Khan, his wife Tazeen Fatima and son Abdullah Azam Khan by a local court. Essentially, a BJP leer Akash Saxena h filed a case against Abdullah for submitting an invalid affidavit while filing mination for Uttar Presh Assembly elections in 2017. Saxena contended that Abdullah h furnished different birth certificates for election mination and application for a passport.

Next date of hearing on December 3
Sources indicate that two birth certificates have been issued from Rampur and Luckw. n-bailable warrant was issued as Azam Khan, his wife and son didn’t appear in court despite being summoned. date of next hearing, in this case, is December 3. While Abdullah Azam Khan is an elected MLA from Suar constituency, Fatima recently won Rampur assembly by-election after her husband’s election to Lok Sabha.

Several cases registered against Azam Khan
Azam Khan, a former Cabinet minister during Akhilesh Yav-led regime in Uttar Presh, faces multiple cases. One of m pertains to a violation of Model Code of Conduct in run-up to 2019 Lok Sabha elections. It was alleged that he along with Yav held a roshow on April 4 for more than permitted time. As he didn’t appear in Rampur court, a n-bailable warrant was issued against him on vember 13. Khan is also accused of grabbing land of farmers in Rampur for building Mohamm Ali Jauhar University which came into existence in 2006. As of August 4, nearly 27 FIRs have been lodged against him in connection to this matter. However, Allahab High Court on September 25, put a stay on se FIRs.
