In his affidavit submitted to Election Commission, Baba Siddique disclosed assets worth ₹76 crore. However, accurate details regarding his actual net worth remain unknown.

In 2018, Enforcement Directorate (ED) seized properties valued at ₹462 crore linked to Siddique. ED h confiscated 33 flats worth approximately ₹462 crore from Siddique and Pyramid Developers in Mumbai. This action was reportedly part of an investigation into alleged irregularities in slum rehabilitation scheme in Bandra and money laundering activities.

In a condolence message on X, Deputy Chief Minister and NCP chief Ajit Pawar described attack as extremely unfortunate and condemnable.

"I was shocked on learning that he died in this incident," Pawar said, ding that he h lost a good friend and colleague.

"We have lost a leer who fought for minority community and championed secularism," he said, ding that a thorough probe would be conducted into attack.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said earlier that Mumbai police commissioner Vivek Phansalkar h told him that two alleged shooters have been taken into custody.

One of m is from Uttar Presh and or from Haryana , while a third accused fled from spot, CM told TV channels.

Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fnavis , who also holds home portfolio, arrived at Lilavati Hospital some time after incident.

Siddiqui h joined Ajit Pawar -led NCP only this year.

NCP (SP) president Shar Pawar said deteriorating law and order situation was worrying. It was also alarming that situation was being handled so lightly, Pawar said as he targeted Home Minister Fnavis.
