Mumbai: Gurmail Singh and Dharamraj Kashyap, who are accused of killing former Maharashtra minister and NCP leader Baba Siddique, reportedly learned how to shoot by watching YouTube videos, according to a report from news agency ANI, citing the Mumbai Police sources.
Police revealed that Balakram, a scrap dealer in Pune, was involved in the conspiracy. Two of the accused, Dharmaraj and Shivprasad Gautam, previously worked at Balakram's scrap shop.
Praveen, who has been arrested, and Shubham Lonkar, who is absconding, allegedly provided Rs 2 lakh to Gurmail Singh and Dharamraj Kashyap, the shooters, with the money transferred through a fourth accused, Harish.
“According to the information received from Mumbai Crime Branch, the entire planning of Baba Siddiqui's murder was done in Pune. Mumbai Crime Branch has so far recorded the statements of more than 15 people, including many eyewitnesses who were present at the time of the incident,” the police said.
Investigators are also looking into where the accused practiced shooting with firearms, as per the crime branch.
Three assailants fired at and injured Baba Siddiqui in Mumbai's Bandra East on Saturday evening. The former state minister was admitted to Lilavati Hospital but couldn't survive, a police official said.
After the shooters, involved in the killing of NCP leader Baba Siddique on Saturday, claimed to be members of Lawrence Bishnoi gang, the investigation agencies are preparing to question the jailed gangster in Gujarat .
