Baba Siddique, NCP Leader, Shot Dead In Mumbai: What We Know So Far?

Baba Siddique, senior NCP leader, was shot dead by unidentified persons in Mumbai's Bandra East on Saturday.

Mumbai: Baba Siddique, senior leader of the Ajit Pawar -led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), was shot dead in Mumbai on Saturday evening by unidentified persons. He was shot multiple times in Mumbai's Bandra east. The NCP leader was rushed to Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital but succumbed to injuries. 

Baba Siddique shot dead | What we know so far

  • Baba Siddique was shot outside his MLA son Zeeshan Siddiqui's office near Colgate ground in Nirmal Nagar, reports said.
  • Mumbai police has informed that two people related to the firing on Baba Siddique have been taken into custody.
  • Out of the two accused, one is from Uttar Pradesh and second from Haryana . The third suspect is still out at large. 
  • The police is interrogating the two accused arrested so far in this incident. 
  • Baba Siddique was formerly a Congress leader and had recently shifted to the NCP. 

Timeline of attack on Baba Siddique  

  • Baba Siddique left the office between 9:15 pm to 9:20 pm. He was firing crackers near his office when attacked.
  • While bursting crackers, suddenly three people got out of the vehicle.
  • These three people came with handkerchiefs tied on their faces. They then fired three rounds at Baba Siddique.
  • The firing took place near the Ram Mandir near Baba Siddique's office. he fell down after being shot in the chest.
  • He was immediately rushed to Lilavati Hospital. 
  • As soon as the police received the information, the police entered the spot.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis is at Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai where NCP leader Baba Siddiqui was rushed after being shot at.
