A Delhi hospital's ingenuity knew no bounds when in a bid to get a toddler treated for her fractured leg, they also put a plaster on her doll's leg. Here's the story that is making people swoon 'aww-dorable' all over the country
Zikra sustains injury
Eleven-month-old Zikra Malik had been admitted to Lok Nayak Hospital in Delhi following a mishap which left her leg fractured. Zikra Malik was injured after falling down from her bed on August 17. Following the incident, she was instantly rushed to the hospital whereby they suggested putting her on gallows traction, a method used to treat fracture of the thigh bone in children younger than 2 years. Despite the doctors' most persuasive efforts, a nervous Zikra refused to be treated.

Zikra refuses to get treated
Suffering a fracture at a tender age must have been painful enough, but to top it all of her refusal to get treated could have vastly complicated matters. That's when little girl's parents came up with a remarkable solution. Requesting the doctors to make an exception, the girl's mother cited how much Zikra loved her doll Pari, and asked them to treat the latter first and cross their fingers that Zikra follows suit.

Doctors put plaster on Zikra's doll 'pari'
The trick began to work as soon as Pari was added to the mix. As Pari was placed in position for the procedure, Zikra complied as well. Doctors at the hospital first 'treated' Pari, and then Zikra. They plastered the doll's legs, after which Zikra agreed to receive treatment. At bed number 16 of the orthopedic block, the two now lie together, and their friendship has become the talk of the ward.
