Bangladesh participates in Republic Day parade for the first time in 50 years; see pics

Anurag Srivastava, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson on January 26 t only shared ims of 122-member Bangleshi regiment marching during 72nd Republic Day pare but also deemed it a “historic moment” in 50 years of bilateral ties between both nations. This was for first time ever, that contingent of Banglesh Armed Forces participated at historic Republic Day celebrations at New Delhi on Tuesday.
As per reports, majority of soldiers in contingent come from most distinguished units of Bangleshi Army comprising of 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 9, 10 & 11 East Bengal Regiment and 1, 2 and 3 Field Artillery Regiment. se units reportedly also have distinct hour of fighting and winning Liberation War of 1971.

During iconic ceremony, according to trition, national flag was unfurled in presence of President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and or dignitaries, followed by national anm with a booming 21-gun salute. Among or highlights of pare, India even showed its military might with Rafale fighter jets taking part in flypast for first time and armed forces showcasing T-90 tanks, Samvijay electronic warfare system, and Sukhoi-30 MKI fighter jets.

‘Very good experience’ and ‘great responsibility’
Earlier, Colonel Mohatsim Hyder Chaudhary, chief of Banglesh contingent h said on January 25 that marching style of both Indian and Bangleshi contingent is similar and thus, y did t have to change pattern a lot. Just hours before largest and most important of pares marking Republic Day celebrations in India begin in New Delhi, Chaudhary h told news ncy ANI that it is a “great responsibility” assigned to Bangleshi contingent of putting a great show. He also said that forces are excited about Tuesday’s pare.

"It is a great responsibility that has been assigned to us. men with me are very excited to participate in this pare... If you ask about feelings, participating in a foreign land, with a foreign army and with same tempo is very much exciting," he said.
Chaudhary ded, "It is a very good experience. Fortunately, way we march and marching of Indian contingent are quite similar. From that point of view, we didn't have to change our pattern much."
