Info: Last week, the Maharashtra Government announced that the Eid-e-Milad holiday was rescheduled from September 16 to September 18, 2024.
All public and private banks in Maharashtra will remain closed today, September 18, to commemorate Eid-e-Milad. Banks in several cities, including Mumbai, Pune, and others across the state, will be closed due to the occasion. The holiday was rescheduled in Maharashtra after Muslim community leaders met and decided to avoid a clash with the Ganesh Visarjan celebrations during the week.
Following the decision, the Reserve Bank of India ( RBI ) stated, "The public holiday on September 16, 2024, declared earlier, has been cancelled."
In case of emergencies, all banks will continue to operate their online websites and mobile banking services regardless of weekends or holidays, unless otherwise notified. You can also access any bank’s ATMs for cash withdrawals.
Additionally, banks in Kerala have listed a holiday on September 18 for Sree Narayana Guru Jayanti and will also remain closed.
Next week, some states will enjoy a long weekend with holidays on September 21 (Sree Narayana Guru Samadhi — Kerala ), September 22 (Sunday — pan-India), and September 23 (Heroes’ Martyrdom Day — Haryana ).
