'Batenge to Katenge...': Yogi Adityanath Calls For Hindu Unity on Janmashtami
'Batenge to Katenge'. You are seeing what is happening in Bangladesh. Those mistakes should not be repeated here (India)", said CM Yogi.
Agra/Uttar Pradesh: Referring to atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasised the need for Hindu unity on Monday. "Nothing can be above the nation. And the nation will be empowered only when we are united. 'Batenge to Katenge'. You are seeing what is happening in Bangladesh. Those mistakes should not be repeated here (in India)... 'Batenge to Katenge, Ek Rahenge to Nek Rahenge'...", said Yogi, while addressing a public gathering on the occasion of Janmashtami.
‘Sab Ke Muh Band Hai…’
Yogi Adityanath also criticised the opposition for their silence on the atrocities against Hindus in the neighbouring country. He said, “Opposition leaders are silent out of fear that addressing the issue could jeopardize their vote bank and undermine their political standing. Their reluctance to speak up is driven by the fear that the very ground they stand on could turn into embers that burn them. While they are vocal about global issues like Palestine, they remain indifferent to the situation in Bangladesh.”
Earlier, Bangladesh had assured Prime Minister Modi of its commitment to protecting and ensuring the security of Hindus and other minorities in the country. PM Modi stated that Bangladesh's interim government's chief adviser, Muhammad Yunus, had called him to provide this assurance.
In his Independence Day speech, PM Modi expressed hope that the situation in violence-stricken Bangladesh would soon stabilize, noting that 140 crore Indians were deeply concerned about the safety of Hindus and minorities in the neighbouring nation.
Besides, Yunus extended his support to the Hindu community in Bangladesh during a visit to the Dhakeshwari Temple in Dhaka. He pledged to take action against those responsible for the recent attacks on minorities following the ousting of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Reports from across Bangladesh have highlighted attacks on Hindus and other minorities, with visual evidence showing temples being destroyed and individuals assaulted by mobs. The Indian Cultural Centre was also damaged, and several institutions, including the ISKCON temple, were vandalised.
