Bees create havoc on runway, cause delay in an Air India flight

A Kolkata-Agartala Air India flight was delayed for around two hours on Sunday after a swarm of bees was noticed in front of the aircraft while moving to runway

A Kolkata-Agartala Air India flight was delayed for around two hours on Sunday after a swarm of bees was ticed in front of aircraft while it was taxiing towards main runway here, an airline official said.

plane with 136 passengers and crew members onboard AI 743 flight was scheduled to depart at 9.40 am. bees were ticed by pilots when Airbus A319 was moving towards runway for take-off.

Fear of bees entering through engines

pilots brought aircraft to a standstill as furr movement could have damd plane and harmed passengers if bees entered it through engines, Air India spokesperson said.

Fire services personnel were called to tackle problem. It was found that bees did t enter aircraft r any dam was caused to plane. Before this incident, flight had been delayed for some time due to a technical snag. plane finally embarked for Tripura capital at 12.45 pm.
