West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee apprised that her government has distributed scholarships to over 2.03 crore mirity students in state. In a tweet to mark Mirity Rights Day, CM Banerjee claimed that increase in such scholarships have been almost 24 times.

Mamata Banerjee was t only one to tweet on occasion. Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and official handle of Congress Party also tweeted ir mess. Congress took a dig at ruling BJP government in Centre, saying that this day is necessary to remind  government of mirity rights and prohibition of discriminiation under Article 15 of Constitution.
