Bengaluru: In the latest developments in the murder case of 29-year-old Mahalakshmi, whose body was found chopped into 50 pieces in a fridge, her husband Heman Das, has claimed that her lover could be involved in the murder.

Das said that he had filed a complaint against the lover identified as Ashraf in a local station in Bengaluru a few months ago, as per media reports.

"I filed a complaint against him at the Nelamangala police station once. Post the complaint, it was mandated that he must not come to Bengaluru. But I don't know where else they went," he said.

Mahalakshmi had an affair with another man, claims husband

The husband of the woman whose brutal murder has surfaced with gory details has claimed that Mahalakshmi had an affair with another man and suspected that he might be behind this crime. According to reports, both the husband and the victim were living separately. The 29-year-old woman was living in Vyalikaval, Bengaluru and working in a mall.

Mahalakshmi's body cut into over 50 pieces, stuffed in refrigerator     

Mahalaxmi's case came to light after her body chopped into 50 pieces was found stuffed in a refrigerator of a room. According to the police, the incident may have happened 4-5 days ago and is being probed as a murder.

According to cops, the victim was married and reportedly staying away from her husband. She was working at a Mall in Malleswaram while her husband worked in a hermitage away from the city. After learning about the incident, he too came to the spot.

Amid this, a video has surfaced showing how victim woman Mahalakshmi's family including her mother and sister found out about the incident.

In the 44-second clip, her mother and sister are seen entering the room where she was staying. They took a round in the 1-room set which was smelling badly. Looking for their daughter, one of the persons opened the fridge and were shocked to see her body parts stuffed inside the refrigerator. They rushed outside shouting.

Senior police officers reached the spot and barricaded the road leading to the building where the body was found in a single bedroom house, where the victim was staying alone. Police suspect it to be a case of murder, which took place about a week ago. An investigation has been launched into the case.

Additional Commissioner of Police (West Zone) N Satheesh Kumar said, "A woman's body was found chopped into pieces and stored in a fridge at a house within the Vyalikaval police station limits. It appeared to have been done 4-5 days ago." He said the dog squad and the forensic experts too visited the spot and started the investigation.
