Bengaluru: Man Dies After Jumping in Front of Green Line Metro Train, Services Temporarily Suspended

Bengaluru: A tragic incident happened on Saturday evening at the Doddakallasandra Metro station in Bengaluru as a 35-year-old man ended his life by jumping in front of an approaching Green Line metro train. 

The unfortunate accident led to a temporary suspension of train services between Yelachenahalli and Silk Institute stations.

According to the Namma Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL), the incident occurred at approximately 5:45 PM. While the man's identity remains undisclosed, local police are investigating the matter further.

BMRCL official tweet Says, “As per the preliminary information a 35-year-old Man, has jumped in front of the approaching train at 17.45 hrs at Doddakallasandra Station. On Green Line Train services are suspended between Yelachenahalli & Silk Institute Stations, Remaining section the services are on.”

The sudden disruption caused significant inconvenience to commuters relying on the Green Line for their travel. BMRCL has assured the public that services on the remaining sections of the line are operational and is working diligently to restore normal operations as soon as possible.

This heartbreaking incident has once again brought to light the urgent need for robust mental health support systems and preventive measures to address such tragedies.
