Bengaluru: In yet another shocking incident, a security guard was stabbed to death by a student inside Sindhi College in Kempapura here on Wednesday. The accused, identified as Bhargav, a final-year BA student, has been taken into police custody.

The incident took place when Bhargav, who was reportedly drunk, tried to enter the college premises. Security guard, on duty at the time, denied him entry due to his visible inebriation.

Outraged by the guard’s refusal, Bhargav initially left the scene but returned shortly after armed with a knife. As he tried to enter the college again, the security guard confronted him. In a fit of rage, Bhargav attacked the guard, repeatedly stabbing him.

Accused Bhargav

Sources told Republic World that Bhargav, who was residing in a nearby PG accommodation, had consumed alcohol before coming to the college.

The college staff, horrified by the brutal assault, called the police. Officers arrived at the scene and swiftly apprehended Bhargav.

The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared dead upon arrival.

Meanwhile, a case has been registered at the Amruthalli police station and officials are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Earlier this year, the murder of Karnataka college student Neha Hiremath by her former classmate Fayaz Khondunaik sparked a political controversy. The BJP has labelled the case as "love jihad," a claim that the Congress has refuted.

Weeks after college student Hiremath's murder, a 21-year-old woman was stabbed to death inside her house by an acquaintance. Vishwa alias Girish Sawant, 23, knocked on the door of Anjali Ambigera's residence at Veerapur Oni area, which falls within the jurisdiction of the Bendigeri police station limits here, at around 5.45 am. When she opened the door, Girish stabbed Anjali to death with a knife and fled the place.
