Bengaluru: Police have registered a case against a teacher from convent school in Jayanagar for allegedly breaking a 6-gre student’s tooth during class after boy spilled some water on her cloths, on Thursday.

According to FIR, incident occurred around 12:30 pm when Hindi teacher struck 11-year-old boy on face with a wooden stick and broke one of her tooth.

boy and his classmates were playing with bottles of gum and sprinkling water on one anor in classroom. teacher initially attempted to stop mischief by threatening m with stick, but situation escalated later due to her mishandling situation. 

victim’s far filed a police complaint, claiming that his son approached teacher to report behavior of his peers but was struck inste. He also accused school ministration of attempting to dissue him from filing a complaint and offering a settlement.

Authorities have registered a case under Juvenile Justice Act and Section 122(2) of Indian Penal Code, which pertains to voluntarily causing hurt. Police have confiscated stick and student’s broken tooth as evidence and summoned teacher for questioning.

Meanwhile, school management has lodged a counter-complaint, alleging that boy’s far verbally abused teacher after incident and exaggerated situation. police have recorded this as a non-cognisable report.

management also claims that altercation stemmed partly from far being asked to clear outstanding school fees.
