Bengaluru traffic updates: The roads of Bengaluru experienced a massive surge in traffic on Sunday as people in large number came out of their home for Christmas celebrations.
On the Bellary service road, commuters got massive traffic woes as a huge influx of the public to the Phoenix Mall of Asia on Christmas Eve led to traffic jam.
Hundred of four-wheeler and two-wheeler vehicles were stuck in the traffic for nearly two-three hours. Several buses enroute to Kempegowda International Airport were also seen waiting in traffic queue.
The Phoenix Mall of Asia unveiled one of the biggest Christmas trees at a height of 100 ft, which has become a huge point of attraction in Bengaluru on the occassion of Christmas.
The mall has faced criticism from the public due to the traffic congestion it generated, particularly on occasions such as Christmas and weekends.
Traffic Police issues advisory
The massive traffic jam, which chocked Bengaluru roads leading towards the Phoenix Mall of Asia from 2 pm onwards, prompted the traffic police to issue advisory.
“Due to a huge influx of visitors to the Mall of Asia, there is traffic congestion on the Bellary service road leading up to the mall. Parking is full. Commuters are advised to plan accordingly,” the advisory stated.
