Intoxicated Man Detained for Vandalising Statue of Lal Bahadur Shastri in Bhopal
A man was detained for allegedly vandalising a statue of former prime minister Lal Bahadur Shastri in Madhya Pradesh capital Bhopal on Saturday.

Bhopal: In a shocking incident, an unidentified man placed shoes on statue of former Prime Minister Lal Bahur Shastri near Police Commissioner’s office in Bhopal on Saturday. This act of disrespect led to anger among locals and political groups, who quickly gared at site to demand justice.
After learning about incident, Congress workers arrived at scene, cleaned statue with milk as a mark of respect, and raised slogans, vowing not to tolerate any insult to former leer. y also questioned security in area, pointing out that if such an act could occur near police hequarters, safety in city was a serious concern.

police responded by launching an investigation. Arera Hills Police Station in-charge Manoj Patwa said officers were checking CCTV footage from area to identify those involved. He promised that culprits would be caught soon.
Meanwhile, Congress leer Arun Yav condemned act and urged state government to take strict action. He called it “insulting” and asked for immediate steps to hold those responsible accountable.

A man was detained for allegedly vandalising a statue of former prime minister Lal Bahur Shastri in Mhya Presh capital Bhopal on Saturday, a police official confirmed.

statue is situated close to Kushabhau Thakre auditorium, Arera Hill police station inspector Manoj Patwa said.
"On complaint of Jahangirab Congress block committee president Yashwant Yav we registered a case under section 298 (defilement of sacred object) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

A 35-year-old man has been detained. He has told us he was intoxicated when he committed act," Patwa said.
