Bhopal to have waterproof Ravana for Dussehra owing to heavy rainfall

In order to prevent heavy rainfall from ruining the festivities on the occasion of Dusshera, a committee in Bhopal has installed a waterproof Ravana effigy

In order to prevent heavy rainfall from ruining festivities on occasion of Dusshera, a committee in Bhopal has installed a waterproof Ravana effigy on old compound ground. Furrmore, committee has also installed effigy of Aksayakumara, youngest son of Ravana, to educate children about his role in Ramayan.

'This time we have made waterproof Ravana'

According to a local resident from area, Pushpendra Singh Sengal, "From past 28 years, we are installing effigies here. This time we have made waterproof Ravana by stuffing it with gelatin. drizzle in area has t caused any harm to effigies”.

Few isolated places over Madhya Pradesh are receiving rainfall from past couple of days resulting in water logging in areas. In few places, relentless rain brought places such as Bhopal, Gwalior and Indore to a standstill, resulting in a traffic jam at several junctions and roads across city. Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted rain and thundershowers at isolated places over Madhya Pradesh for next few days.

Madhya Pradesh suffered a loss of Rs 11,906 crore during floods

Incessant rains followed by floods in September have reportedly caused excessive dam in several parts of Madhya Pradesh. According to reports from local media, over 600 people lost ir lives in floods. Furr, state suffered a loss of Rs 11,906 crore during floods. State government officials sought immediate financial aid for relief and rehabilitation work. officials also made a formal request for financial assistance of Rs 11,906 crore before central team that visited state.

Three dozen districts have been gravely affected by floods and downpour in state. figure is loosely based on initial assessment of dam which was a consequence of heavy rains. rainfall and floods have already claimed over 225 lives so far. officials on September 19 held a meeting with central team members and tified m of huge losses. officials stated that 36 of 52 districts have suffered serious losses due to heavy rains and floods. Furrmore, central team is scheduled to investigate losses in Vidisha, Raisen, Rajgarh, Mandsaur, and Agar Malwa districts.
