Bhopal Boat Tragedy: 12 Dead as overcrowded procession boat capsizes
In Bhopal, at least 12 people have died when a boat capsized in Chhota Talab near Khatlapura Ghat. MP CM Kamal Nath has said that strict action will be taken.

On Friday, at least 12 people have died after ir bodies were recovered at Khatlapura Ghat in Bhopal after boat y were in, capsized on morning of September 13. people h set out for Ganpati Visarjan when incident happened and search operation is underway. According to reports, incident took place at around 4:30 am.

Rescue operation underway
"Five people have been rescued out of 16 and we have recovered 11 bodies till w. A search operation is underway and we are trying to rescue or people as well. According to locals, only se many people h drowned here, but we are still searching in case we find some or people," Akhil Patel, ditional Superintendent of Police (ASP) was quoted as saying by news ncy ANI. He ded that at least 40 police personnel are present at spot along with or authorities and professional swimmers. "State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) team is also present at spot," ASP said.

NDRF has said that a country boat carrying 19 persons capsized in Chhota Talab, Khatlapura in Bhopal district. One NDRF team has been deployed for search and rescue along with or ncies. six persons saved mselves by swimming and 12 de bodies have been retrieved so far. y also said that search for one more person is going on.

Kamal Nath says those found guilty will be punished
Mhya Presh Law Minister, PC Sharma has called incident “unfortunate” and anunced a compensation of 4 lakhs for families of deceased by District Collector. He also said that an investigation will be done. Mhya Presh Chief Minister Kamal Nath has directed officials for a magisterial inquiry into incident. He said, “Strict action will be taken against those found responsible for incident.”
Meanwhile, former MP Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has questioned ministration. He said, "If more people than capacity were allowed, why was it so? It was ministrative negligence."
