Bhopal Boat Tragedy: MP Legal Affairs Minister alleges carelessness
MP Legal Affairs Minister, PC Sharma alleges carelessness by the officials in the Bhopal boat tragedy, demands suspension and high-level level inquiry

A day after terrible trdy of September 13 when 11 people drowned after ir boats capsized, Mhya Presh Legal Affairs Minister PC Sharma has demanded a high-level inquiry as well as action against senior officials of police and district ministration.

Carelessness of Officials
In a letter dressed to commissioner of Bhopal division, Sharma alleged carelessness and demanded suspension of senior officials who were t present at spot.
" trdy could have been averted h officials of district ministration and police besides divers been present at site of immersion," he stated. "Those officers (of deputy collector and tehsildar level) who were assigned duty at immersion site should be suspended and a high-level inquiry conducted," he demanded.
district collector took action against negligent officials and suspended four officials for alleged n-performance of duty. Revenue Inspector Anil Gawhane, who was on duty at Upper Lake, also faced similar action. Assistant Police Sub-Inspector Shivvachan Yav, who was posted at site but was found absent, was also suspended. Bhopal Municipal Corporation has suspended fire officer Sajid Khan along with deputy city engineer R K Saxena, who were on duty at immersion site. Moreover, municipal corporation h anunced relief of Rs 2 lakh each to kin of deceased, while an ex-gratia of Rs 4 lakh, including an immediate relief of Rs 50,000, was declared by collector.

Kamal Nath orders a magisterial inquiry
Office of Chief Minister of Mhya Presh Kamal Nath on Twitter said news of 11 people drowning in Khatlapura Ghat in Bhopal is sdening. tweet furr assured citizens that government is with families of victims. Promising to take action, CM's office stated that whoever was negligent will t be spared. Kamal Nath also instructed a magisterial inquiry into incident and promised all aggrieved that compensation amounting to Rs 11 lakh will be given.

11 people died and ir bodies were recovered at Khatlapura Ghat in Bhopal after boat y were in, capsized on morning of September 13. people h set out for Ganpati Visarjan when incident occurred. According to reports, incident took place at around 4:30 am.

Former MP Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has questioned ministration. He said, "If more people than capacity were allowed, why was it so? It was ministrative negligence."
