Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reacted to the boat tragedy in which 11 people died on Friday morning in Bhopal. A statement was released on the Twitter handle of the Office of Prime Minister in which PM Modi has called the incident 'saddening'. It said, "The capsizing of a boat at Khatlapura Ghat in Bhopal is saddening. In this hour of grief, our thoughts are with the families of those who lost their lives: PM@narendramodi."
Kamal Nath orders a magisterial inquiry
The Office of the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Kamal Nath on Twitter said the news of 11 people drowning in Khatlapura Ghat in Bhopal is saddening. The government is with the families of the victims. Whoever was negligent will not be spared. All the aggrieved will be given a compensation amount of Rs 11 lakh. A magisterial inquiry into the incident has been instructed.

A fatal tragedy
11 people died after their bodies were recovered at Khatlapura Ghat in Bhopal after the boat they were in, capsized on the morning of September 13. The people had set out for Ganpati Visarjan when the incident happened. According to reports, the incident took place at around 4:30 am. Madhya Pradesh Law Minister, PC Sharma called the incident 'unfortunate' and announced a compensation of Rs 4 lakhs which was increased to Rs 11 lakh for the families of the deceased by the District Collector. He also said that an investigation will be done. Former MP Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has questioned the administration. He said, "If more people than the capacity were allowed, why was it so? It was administrative negligence."
