Bhopal: Two frogs were divorced by Om Shiv Seva Shakti Mandal group on Wednesday to stop excessive rains in Mhya Presh. same frog couple was married off two months ago to please God of rain due to drought-like conditions in state. divorce took place in a temple at Indrapuri in hopes to stop heavy rains. state has received an unprecedented amount of rains this year with fears over possible floods in Bhopal; it has so far set record for highest rainfall.

'Heavy Rainfall Cause of Divorce'
frogs were married in Karnataka in hopes that state will receive good rainfall. In light of this belief, frogs were dressed according to local customs and were given a ceremony. Two men could be seen holding frogs, while a woman is seen taking 'taali' - sacred marri thre from one frog and tying it around neck of or frog, bonding m as 'husband and wife'. people were desperate for rains after water levels in dams started falling, ceremony was carried out at a temple in Karnataka with a special puja. But divorce of frog couple that brought good rains was thought to be solution to stop current situation in Bhopal.

Highest Rainfall Record in Mhya Presh:
State of Mhya Presh has been receiving excessive rains for several days. This caused water in Narma river to flow above danger mark. Six gates of Kolar dam have been opened to release water after it was last opened in 2016. If rains reach above 767 mm mark, it could break record set in September 1961.
