Bihar Floor Test LIVE UPDATES: All eyes are on Bihar as the newly formed Nitish Kumar-led NDA government will have to prove its majority in the Bihar assembly on Monday, February 12. Nitish Kumar dumped the Mahagathbandhan alliance to return to the BJP-led NDA fold ahead of the crucial Lok Sabha elections. RJD leader Awadh Bihari Choudhary was removed from the post of speaker following the passage of motion in the assembly.
At the Bihar assembly, the BJP holds a significant strength with 79 MLAs, followed by Nitish Kumar's Janata Dal United which has 45 MLAs. The other partner Jitan Ram Manjhi's Hindustani Awam Morcha-Secular contributes four MLAs. The NDA also had support of independent MLA Sumit Singh, while the majority number in Bihar assembly is 122.

CM Nitish Kumar won the trust vote in Bihar assembly. The new government secured 129 votes in favour of the motion amid a walkout by the opposition members. The Bihar assembly has a strength of 243 MLAs
As the deputy speaker said that 129 votes have been casted in the favour of the confidence motion, Nitish Kumar reminded him that his vote shall also be counted.

A heated exchange was witnessed between Tejashwi Yadav and Hindustani Awam Morcha leader Jitan Ram Manjhi after Yadav cited Manjhi's past remarks about Nitish Kumar. “He [Nitish Kumar] has forgotten basic decency and lost mental balance," said Manjhi outside the House last year.
Reminding the same to Manjhi in the House, Tejashwi advised Manjhi to take good care of Nitish Kumar.

In the Bihar assembly, as proceedings begun, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav slammed Nitish Kumar. “Nitish Kumar has scripted history by taking oath as the chief minister of Bihar for the 9th time,” said Tejashwi Yadav in the assembly.
Tejashwi Yadav said that he respects Nitish Kumar, asking the reason behind his flip. “He must have some compulsion just like Dashrath..Dashrath sent Lord Ram to exile,” said Yadav.
"...We think of you (CM Nitish Kumar) as a member of our family. We are from the Samajwadi family...Jo aap jhanda le kar ke chale the ki Modi ko desh mein rokne hain, ab aapka Bhateeja jhanda utha kar ke Modi ko Bihar mein rokne ka kaam karega." said Tejashwi in the assembly.
