Judge gives ration instead of punishment to Bihar minor arrested & thrashed for stealing

A local court judge in Bihar provided free ration, clothes and other essential items instead of punishment to a minor boy who was arrested for stealing.

In view of Coronavirus crisis, a local court judge on Sunday in Bihar provided free ration, clos and or essential items instead of punishment to a mir boy who was arrested for stealing.

According to reports, mir boy identified as Narendra Rao was caught stealing and was taken to police station. After hearing in court, judge gave a decision in favour of boy. Reportedly, boy belonged to a poor family in Bihar.

Speaking to news ncy, ANI,  mir boy narrated incident and said, "Police caught me as I was running from crime spot after stealing. Locals gared in area to beat me up. I was thrashed by m and n police took me to jail. Later when I was produced in court, judge understood my condition and realized why I got involved in stealing. My mor was sick and we had food. I wanted to feed her something." 

' shelter for family'

According to a district official, while family has been getting a benefit from government's pension scheme, y do t have a shelter as ir name was t mentioned in official data. "This is reason y remained deprived of Awas Yojna. We have provided m with some essential commodities," he said.

Meanwhile, villrs lauded judge's decision and hoped that it will help boy to follow right path. In Bihar, currently, re are a total of 97 COVID-19 cases, out of which two have succumbed to infection, while 22 have reportedly been cured, discharged or migrated.
