BJP Leader Killed in West Bengal's Usthi, Body Found At Party Office

Kolkata: body of BJP leer Prithviraj Naskar was found inside party office in Usthi, South 24 Parganas district, West Bengal, a police officer confirmed on Saturday. Naskar was responsible for managing party's social media accounts in district.

BJP blamed TMC for killing, while police, after arresting a woman in connection with murder, suggested that motive could be personal.

Naskar's blood soaked body was found at party office on Friday night. His family said that he h been missing since vember 5.

"We are exploring angle of deceased having been involved in a relationship and any quarrel with arrested person," he informed reporters.

 After a preliminary investigation and phone tracking, woman was arrested from a nearby area. During questioning, she confessed to committing crime, police said.

It was being investigated if she was aided and abetted by anyone else, he said.

BJP and TMC were engd in a war of words after murder.

BJP state president Sukanta Majumdar alleged that local TMC activists were behind Naskar's murder, intending to scare off saffron party's supporters in region.

In a post on X, Majumdar said, “Our fight will continue until justice is served and killers of martyr Prithviraj brought to light. BJP remains resolute in ending bloodthirsty and oppressive rule of CM Mamata Banerjee in Bengal.” BJP state unit alleged in ar X post that party’s district social media conver was abducted, tortured and murdered by TMC goons.

Senior TMC leer and former Rajya Sabha MP Kunal Ghosh claimed that BJP kws exact reason behind Naskar’s death but peddles falsehoods implicating TMC.

Ghosh claimed in an X post that re are reports about deceased having personal enmity with more than one person.

Meanwhile, Naskar's far claimed that his son h earned wrath of some local TMC activists and police after putting up placards demanding justice for R G Kar hospital victim during recent Durga Puja festival in area.

"My son was warned of dire consequences by local TMC leers for organising protests on R G Kar issue during festive season," far said.
