Punjab: After BJP MP and actor Kangana Ranaut recently suggested that the farmers' protest could have led to a Bangladesh-like crisis in India if not for the decisive actions of the Modi government, Punjab Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said the BJP President JP Nadda should send Ranaut to a good hospital for a good treatment.

'Kangana Should Be Immediately Treated…'

Cheema, on Thursday, said, "Regarding Kangana Ranaut, my suggestion is that her party's president should send her to a good hospital so that she can get good treatment there. She needs treatment because she is ruining the country's brotherhood by speaking against the farmers of the country, sometimes against a particular section. She should be treated immediately in a good hospital. This parliament can bear the expenses. The country's speaker and the Bharatiya Janata Party have funds, she should be treated by arranging funds from there..."

Simranjit Mann Makes Derogatory Comments on Kangana

Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) president and former MP Simranjit Singh Mann on Thursday made derogatory remarks against Ranaut, who had recently courted controversy with her comments on the farmers' protest.

Mann, 79, made the disparaging remarks, mentioning “rape”, when a reporter in Karnal asked him to comment on a recent interview given by the Mandi MP.

The actor-politician recently posted a clip from the interview in which she suggested that a "Bangladesh-like situation" could have erupted in India but for the country's strong leadership.

She alleged that bodies were hanging and rapes were taking place during the farmers' protest against the now-repealed agri laws.

Mann, a former IPS official who has been a proponent of Khalistan, was in Karnal to attend a party event. The Haryana Assembly polls are being held on October 1.
