BJP Slams Congress Over Rs 5000 Crore Drug Haul Mastermind's Links with Party
Delhi Police’s Special Cell has cracked down on an international drug syndicate, recovering a huge consignment of over 500 kg of cocaine
New Delhi: The Bhartiya Janata Party took a dig at the Congress party after Delhi Police’s Special Cell cracked down on an Rs 5000 Cr international drug syndicate, whose mastermind has linked with the party.
The probe revealed that Tushar Goyal is the linked to Congress . Goyal, the alleged mastermind behind the ₹5000 crore cocaine consignment, claimed during interrogation that he had served as the Chairman of the RTI Cell of Delhi Pradesh Congress until 2022. Photographs of the accused with several Congress leaders have emerged, and his social media profile identifies him as "RTI Cell Chairman, Delhi Pradesh Congress." He has created a social media account under the name Diggi Goyal.
BJP spokesperson and MP Sudhanshu Trivedi said that "Yesterday in Delhi, drugs worth Rs 5,600 crores were seized. This quantity is important as during the UPA government (2006-2013) only drugs worth Rs 768 crores were seized across India."
"The BJP government from 2014-2022 has seized drugs worth Rs 22,000 crore. The main accused and kingpin in the drug syndicate, Tushar Goyal is the chief of Indian Youth Congress RTI Cell...What relations does the Congress party have with him (Tushar Goyal)?... Was this money being used in elections by the Congress party?... Does some leaders of the Congress have any arrangements with the drug peddlers?... Congress especially the Hooda family should reply what is your connection with Tushar Goyal?..." he added further

Four individuals have been arrested so far in connection with the case. The seizure is being described as one of the largest drug busts in recent times, highlighting the significant role of the Special Cell in combatting the flow of illegal narcotics into the country
