Brazilian President Lula Welcomes PM Modi at G20 Summit Venue

PM Narendra Modi arrived at the G20 Summit venue in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on Monday, where he was greeted by Brazilian President Lula da Silva.

Rio de Janiero: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at G20 Summit venue in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on Monday, where he was greeted by Brazilian President Lula da Silva.

Upon Pm Modi's arrival, President da Silva and PM Modi were seen shaking hands and engaging in conversation.

Earlier in day, PM Modi expressed his appreciation for vibrant display of Indian culture in Brazil during his warm welcome in Rio. 

He shared visuals of cultural celebration on social media.

video shared by Prime Minister Modi featured young children singing "Vande Mataram," accompanied by tritional Indian instruments like harmonium. 

He was warmly welcomed with chants of "Jai Shree Krishna" and also enjoyed a vibrant Garba performance by Indian community. W

With folded hands, PM Modi expressed his appreciation for Vedic chants sung by Brazilians, praising m for ir devotion.

"A celebration of Indian culture in Brazil! Gratitude for a memorable welcome in Rio de Janeiro..." PM Modi wrote on X.

India and Brazil share a very close and multifaceted relationship both at bilateral level as well as in plurilateral fora.

In Brazil, re is a lot of interest in India's culture, religion, performing arts and philosophy. Ramakrishna Mission, ISKCON, Satya Sai Baba, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, Bhakti Vedanta Foundation and or spiritual gurus and organizations have chapters in Brazil. Folkloric tritions and celebrations from India relate a lot to joyful and colorful festivities in Brazil. Indian philosophy, spirituality and religion were first forms of Indian culture to reach Brazil.

Prime Minister Modi landed in Brazil after completing first leg of his three-nation tour in Nigeria. In Rio de Janeiro, he was received by Indian officials, including Indian Ambassor to Brazil, Suresh Reddy.

At G20 Summit, PM Modi will represent India as a Troika member, building on momentum established during India's presidency last year.
