30 Maoists were killed in an encounter with security forces which is currently underway at Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada and Narayanpur district border.
Dantewada: As many as 30 Maoists were killed in an encounter with security forces which is currently underway at Chhattisgarh ’s Dantewada and Narayanpur district border, police said on Friday.
Police officials said that the encounter is currently going on at the border area of Dantewada and Narayanpur and the intermittent firing is coming from both sides.
Joint operation was conducted by Dantewada and Narayanpur police, officials added.
“All security personnel are safe,” Dantewada SP Gaurav Rai said.

Earlier, 9 Naxals were killed during an encounter operation in the forest along the Dantewada-Bijapur border in Chhattisgarh on September 3.
According to officials, automatic weapons were seized from the Naxals, including a significant number of SLR rifles, .303 rifles, and .315 bore rifles, as stated by Dantewada SP Gaurav Rai.
All personnel involved in the operation are reported to be safe, and search operations are ongoing in the area.
“A joint police team launched a search operation after receiving intelligence about the presence of Maoists from the West Bastar Division in the border region between Dantewada and Bijapur districts. The encounter began at approximately 10:30 AM on Tuesday,” officials said.

Earlier in August, Union Home Minister said that the government aims to eliminate Naxalism from the country by March 2026.
On August 29, three female Naxalites were killed during an encounter with security forces in the dense forests of Abujhmad in Narayanpur. They were identified as members of the North Bastar Division Committee and PLGA Company Number 5. A joint operation was conducted by the District Reserve Guard (DRG), Special Task Force (STF), and the Border Security Force.
Officials said that a significant cache of weapons, including a .303 rifle and .315 bore guns, along with Naxal-related materials, was recovered from the site.
