Udhampur: Amidst the ongoing encounter in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district, another gunfight broke out between the security forces and Jaish-linked terrorists during a search operation in Jammu and Kashmir's Udhampur district. According to police sources, the security forces established contact with 3 to 4 terrorists hiding in the dense forests in Udhampur’s Basantgarh area. Following this the area was cordoned off and a manhunt was launched by the security forces.
The encounter erupted after the terrorists began firing at the security forces in the forest area. If reports are to be believed, the same group of terrorists were intercepted earlier on August 6, when they had managed to escape from the spot.
