Hyderabad: Another incident of temple vandalism has been reported in Hyderabad where unidentified miscreants allegedly damaged idols of deities at a temple in Airport Colony, Shamshabad, on Tuesday.
The incident came to light when the priest arrived for daily rituals and discovered several idols had been desecrated. Police arrived at the scene upon receiving information and are investigating the site.
This incident followed another attack on the Muthyalamma temple in Kurmaguda, where an individual was caught and handed over to the police by locals. These attacks have sparked protests and heightened security concerns in the region.
In connection with these events, BJP leader Madhavi Latha was detained during a protest over the alleged vandalism of the Muthyalamma temple in Secunderabad. She joined demonstrators agitating against the desecration of the temple's idol, which led to her detention by the police. The incident has drawn significant attention, with Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy visiting the temple and calling for a thorough investigation.
These events have highlighted the tensions and communal sensitivities in Hyderabad, prompting calls for increased security and vigilance around religious sites.
