BJP Leader G Kishan Reddy Welcomes TTD's Decision to Restrict Non-Hindus Near 'Bhagwan'

New Delhi: Telangana BJP President and Union Home Minister G Kishan Reddy has expressed support for recent decision me by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) to ensure that only Hindus are employed in roles related to temple ministration. announcement comes after a meeting of newly constituted TTD trust board, which resolved to assess number of non-Hindu employees and move m to or government departments or offer m voluntary retirement schemes.
Reddy, while speaking to Republic TV, welcomed move, which he said h been a long-standing demand. "It h been a demand for last many days. Non-Hindus should not be near God," Reddy remarked, ding, "We will not remove people from jobs, we will employ m somewhere else. I welcome decision taken by TTD board. I thank m for this."

TTD's decision comes on heels of a controversial ulteration scandal involving ghee used for preparation of famous Tirumala ldus. During ir meeting on Monday, TTD board, chaired by BR Naidu, decided to review current employment structure, which includes 44 employees from or religious backgrounds, according to a 2018 report. board has now directed that se employees be eir reassigned within state government or offered early retirement options.
Speaking to reporters, Naidu emphasized that TTD is a Hindu religious institution, and board felt it necessary to limit employment to Hindus in roles that are directly connected to temple. "We shall write to state government to take an appropriate decision regarding non-Hindus working in Tirumala," he said.

In dition to staffing decision, TTD board took several or measures to dress recent controversies and improve temple ministration. board has proposed formation of a committee to regularly monitor quality of ghee used in preparing prasams, including Tirumala ldu, in response to concerns over its ulteration.
