New Delhi: The Delhi Police on Saturday received a bomb threat call inside a Cluster bus in Outer Delhi’s Nangloi area leading to a massive panic-like situation in the national capital. On information, several teams of Delhi Police, firefighters and bomb disposal squad teams were rushed to the spot. The entire area was cordoned off and people residing in the nearby area were shifted to safe locations.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer Delhi), Jimmy Chiram confirmed the report saying that a call was received regarding the presence of a suspicious bag inside a cluster bus in Nangloi. The bomb disposal squad was trying to examine the bag.
According to the police, a call that a bomb was found in a bus on Nagaloi-Najafgarh Road was received, following which, the Delhi police teams rushed to the spot and an investigation was initiated. During preliminary examination, a suspicious object that appeared to be a wire was recovered. The bomb disposal squad teams were further analysing the object to ascertain the truth.
The Delhi Fire Department stated that a bomb threat call was received from the Narela area near Chanchal Park located in Bakarwala near Nangloi's CNG pump on the road leading to Najafgarh. 2 fire tenders rushed to the site. Information stated that a bomb was suspected in a cluster bus of route number 961, from Nangloi to Najafgarh road and the bomb squad was called by the Delhi Police.
