Cash For Query Scam: CBI Raids Multiple Premises Linked to Mahua Moitra

According to Republic's sources, the searches are being carried out at her residence in Kolkata

New Delhi: Central Bureau Of Investigation (CBI) is conducting raids at premises linked to expelled Lok Sabha TMC MP Mahua Moitra.

According to Republic's sources, searches are being carried out at Moitra's residences and or places in Kolkata and or places in connection with alleged cash-for-query case, PTI reported.

This This comes days after Lokpal ordered CBI probe in cash-for-query case, and is first time, searches are being carried out in case. 

CBI filed an FIR against former TMC MP on Thursday on directives of Lokpal, which directed ncy to file a report within 6 months, as per officials.

Moitra was expelled from Lok Sabha in December for "unethical conduct."

former MP has challenged her expulsion in Supreme Court of India and will again be in hustings during upcoming general elections, TMC fielded her from Krishnanagar seat in West Bengal.

Lokpal, anti-corruption ombudsman, issued directions to CBI after receiving findings of its preliminary inquiry into allegations made against Moitra by BJP MP Nishikant Dubey.

Dubey, a Lok Sabha member, alleged that Moitra had asked questions in House in exchange for money and or gifts from Dubai-based businessman Darshan Hiranandani to mount an attack on industrialist Gautam Adani and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, among ors.
