Bengaluru: Two days after a Bihar woman was found dead with her throat slit in a paying guest (PG) accommodation in Bengaluru's Koramangala area, CCTV footage of the horrific crime has emerged. For the unversed, a woman from Bihar Kirti Kumari was found dead with her throat slit in a paying guest accommodation at Koramangala on Wednesday.

What's In The Video?

In the spine-chilling video,  the killer can be seen walking towards the victim's room, knocking on the door, and then forcibly dragging her out. He is seen attacking her with a knife, despite her desperate attempts to fend him off.

Overpowered, she is violently attacked before the assailant flees. The commotion and her screams prompt other residents to rush to the corridor, where they find the victim in a bloodied state.

What Did The Police Say?

“Kriti Kumari hailed from Bihar. She was working in a private company in the City. The incident might have happened on Tuesday at about 11 pm,” a police officer had said earlier.

Speaking to Republic Kannada, City Police Commissioner Dayananda stated that three teams have been formed to nab the accused in the recent PG murder case. He noted that when the accused first arrived at the PG, a security guard was present and initially turned him away. However, the accused managed to enter the premises later, blindfolded, and committed the crime.

The police have initiated a major operation to arrest the suspect. Commissioner Dayananda assured that no security loopholes were found at the PG, but appropriate actions will be taken as needed.

The latest incident follows a recent stabbing at Sindhi College in Kempapura, where a security guard was killed by Bhargav, a final-year BA student. Bhargav, reportedly intoxicated, was initially denied entry to the college by the guard. Furious, Bhargav left but soon returned with a knife, attacking and fatally stabbing the guard.

Earlier this year, the murder of Karnataka college student Neha Hiremath by her former classmate Fayaz Khondunaik ignited a political debate, with the BJP labelling it as "love jihad," a claim rejected by the Congress.

In another disturbing case, weeks after Hiremath's murder, a 21-year-old woman, Anjali Ambigera, was stabbed to death at her home in the Veerapur Oni area by an acquaintance, Vishwa alias Girish Sawant. Girish, 23, arrived at Anjali’s residence around 5:45 am, and when she answered the door, he fatally attacked her with a knife before fleeing the scene.
